The Game of a Lifetime: Chicago Bears vs. Greenbay Packers

A perfect storm is a brewin' starring the Monsters of the Midway Chicago Bears and the Greenbay Packers. No matter the outcome, THIS game will go down in history. I'm sure that my Bears fan husband will be talking about this game for years to come......just like he's talked about the '85 bears since 1985!

And our five boys will do the same (although our 9 year old admitted last week that the only thing good about football is the party....we always have a houseful of people watching the game, so he relates football to parties!)

Does anyone else think it's destiny that the two teams eliminated last week were birds and we've also had those weird reports of dead birds falling from the skies lately? So the Packers beat the Falcons and the Bears beat the Seahawks. Hmmm?

And tucked inside every Illinois family is at least one rebel who roots for the Pack just to be different. For us, it's our nephew Jake and our son Adam. It was so funny last week as we watched the playoff game between the Packers and the Falcons and my husband was trash talking' the Packers just to tick my nephew off.....that was until Aaron Rodgers started whipping the football down the field like Paula Deen whips cream!

What is it about guys and rivalries and competition? They love it. They crave it. They can't seem to let-it-go! So, get ready Midwest moms and you better have plenty of appetizers, chips and dips ready because this is truly going to be DA GAME OF THE CENTURY!

Go Bears!

Here is my favorite recipe for Jalapeno Deviled Eggs (I made this up a few weeks ago to take to our small group Bible study because I had nothing else in the house but eggs and peppers, so there you go. But, they were AWESOME, so make these for your game snacks.)

Chicago Bear Winning Jalapeno Deviled Eggs

A dozen eggs (hard boiled). Put eggs in a pan of cold water (enough water to cover the eggs) and turn on high heat until they boil. Turn off the heat and let them sit for a little bit, then run under cool water and peel off the shells.

Cut in half lengthwise and scoop out egg yolks and mash them in a bowl with a fork. Add mayo to taste, salt and Tabasco sauce. Yummo! Mix well and scoop back into the eggs.

Sprinkle eggs with red pepper and top with sliced jalapeno.

ENJOY!
